Butterflies like Monarchs depend on nectar and pollen from flowers, native plants such as milkweed, and the protection of native grasses. In the fall, native wildflower and grass seed were drilled into an out of the way area near a bike path at Lewis & Clark Recreation Area. New plants germinated in the spring and will soon add to the butterfly habitat at the state park.
