Lucinda Mays is a horticulturist at Chadron State College in Nebraska. She picks plants historically used by Native Americans of the region when they followed the ripening season. Mays refers to expects such as now deceased Claude Barr, who have learned what plants thrive in the Great Plains conditions where she lives. Pictured is a pasque flower, state flower of South Dakota. See her story and comment below if you wish. Thanks for your visit! http://www.yankton.net/river_city/article_a3d2c4b6-fb1a-11e2-bfd0-0019bb2963f4.html
