Dale Dawson, Conservation Foreman at Lewis & Clark Recreation Area, has developed a deer guard to protect young trees. The low cost deer guard is made of everyday materials and has been successful in protecting the trees from deer. His design has several other features. See the link below for details. Most young trees at the state park now have this protection.
