The Star Of Springtime: Star Magnolia

Mary Ann King, Master Gardener, grows a Star Magnolia, which is considered an edge of zone plant in our USDA 4b – 5a hardiness zone. Like some fruit trees, the early blooming magnolia buds can be nipped by frost so that it may not bloom some years. But she has a protected area for the tree and shares some care techniques that have been successful for her to have blooms and a healthy tree. See her link below:
