Autumn Trees Await

“There’s plenty of horizontal here in South Dakota. What the eye lacks is vertical, ” said a native son.

Now trees display their fall best for us to see on a quiet walk through dry woods in nearby state park. Come with me to enjoy their splendor. Lewis & Clark Recreation Area trails are one of the many places to find the vertical.

When you examine trees again, note that they are four common trees of our woods. Do you recognize them? See what I think are answers at the bottom. Please add your comments there.
